Hi there! My name is Natty and I am a 40+ year-old wife and mother, working full-time and living life full-time. So my site is designed to work for me and appeal to someone like me. It's quick, it's fun and hopefully it's relatable and you'll visit from time to time.
I am the kind of person that has a million commitments during the day, and little time to myself after I tend to them. My kids wake up when I do, they practically go to bed when I do – leaving me only about an hour of free time unless I stay up into the wee hours of the morning. When we get home from work and school, it is non-stop action: homework, dinner, baths, picking out clothes, a whirlwind of shit going on that it amazes me at how many things we can take care of within a few evening hours. Weekends are no different – they are probably even worse with the kids having games or practices, our overall family events or a date night if we are lucky.
My life outside of home is crazy as well. And I don’t just mean busy – I mean some of the stuff that happens to me, is comical. That is why my “blog” is less about my short stories and more about a comic strip that has become my life. Like a raunchy, silly, and more honest version of the Sunday funnies, I hope someone as nutty as me, can spare a few seconds to laugh or feel better about the person they are -- because I assure you - anyone looks good next to me.
I drive fast, spend beyond my means and expose my kids to what some might think is questionable. I am addicted to shopping and recently moved my girls into the same bedroom so I could turn a bedroom into a closet to hold all my clothes, shoes, bags and hats. I am a bit of an airhead, high-strung, explosive, dramatic but a lover of love. I curse, I drink, I listen to loud music and dance like a stripper - in a group or on a dance-floor all by myself - without shame. I enjoy my job and even more, I enjoy the airport bar when I travel for work. I love being the center of attention and happily share way too much information with others. I talk about what might embarrass most or will make my mother cringe if she reads half of my stuff (she actually asked me to wait until she dies to launch this site). I am a typical Italian Jersey girl – I love sparkly things, big hair, high heels and carbs. Yes - bring on the carbs. I don't work out and I am really, really bad with current events, Math, Science or History making it impossible to help my kids with homework. I burn most meals when I cook and I staple things instead of sew them. But instead of apologizing for any of this "awesomeness" - I embrace the crazy that is me.
Here is what I am not: an artist. The drawings that accompany my stories are my doodles. And I doodle – a lot. It clears my head, it actually helps me concentrate and it’s fun. I mean really, look at the hands and feet on the people – YIKES! – no one with true talent would be OK with having drawn a person that has seven fingers. But it’s more about having a blast while creating the end result. And as you will see from your first visit here or as a follower, I am all about a good time. And if you can handle the over-sharing and over-swearing, you will be in for a good time as well!
