Think all this snowfall is finally over? I sure hope so! At this point, it is simply irritating. Adam was away for work during our last storm, so I had to be the one to shovel a path and clean off my car to get me and the girls out that morning (I am lucky that he normally does that for me…it’s a total guy’s job! Snow is really heavy and forget knowing how to use – or start! – that snow blower!) Not being used to having to shovel, I got quickly tired of dealing with the snow. I stood in my small clear path holding my shovel and looked at the car that was totally covered and actually whimpered. I then had a genius idea! Instead of using the ice scraper-brush thing, I started to use my shovel to get the snow off the windshield. Yes! I was getting so much more snow off the car with the shovel. And it took me a fraction of the time and effort. Why didn’t I do this all the time?! Me and the girls got in the car to rush out and start our morning. I turned down our street and a small piece of ice from a nearby tree hit the windshield with a little “ping” sound. This was followed by a “crrraaaaaaccccckkkk” sound and the appearance of a crack danced right across the windshield. I am not going to say this hairline fracture was attributed to the fact thatI just used a metal shovel on the windshield. When I tell Adam the story of what happened, the metal shovel will not have anything to do with the crack but rather it was a giant boulder of ice that fell from a tree nearly killing us. And well, I guess now I know why people don’t use shovels to clear off snow from their windshields. Whoopsie!
