Unless you are the one leading a work conference call, it is likely that everyone else on the phone is multi-tasking. From doing other legit work, to looking at their text messages or scrolling through Facebook, it is as certain as the person who is trying to talk to everyone and realizes a few minutes after not being heard, that they are on mute. The lowest thing I ever did while on a conference call was pee in my office garbage can. I closed the door and just let it go. It was a two-hour call after consuming a 24 oz. bottle of Iced Tea. I had no choice. And no toilet paper but it was much easier to now pay attention to the conversation!
